    Greetings,

September was a busy month and I don't expect things will slow down anytime soon!

On Sep 6th - 8th the NEWARA hosted a special events station at Devils Tower. It was a small group but it sounds like they had a lot of fun and made almost 150 contacts.

On Sep 17th Brian, N5ZGT our division director, hosted the first Rocky Mountain Division HF net. They had about 40 checkins and propagation was fairly good for the first time out. Thanks to our local WY hams who were on deck to help with relays. In Brian's words the goal for the net is to "keep it concise, provide some news tid-bits, take check-ins, solicit on the air feedback and questions, and otherwise have fun." Sounds like a good idea to me. I hope that everyone who can will take part. When the schedule is announced I will be sure to share it with you during my announcements on the Sunday ARES/RACES net and via this web page.

Congratulations to Lenny, KE7VIC who has been appointed EC of Platte County. On that note, Jerry WB7S has been requesting input from the EC's on their ideas for the SET exercise. A tentative date for WY has been set as the weekend of Oct 26th. If anyone has ideas for this please forward them to Jerry at wb7s@arrl.net

Just this past weekend the NEWARA had an antenna raising party. Read more about it by clicking here. You might note that they had one participant who is not a ham yet. He has been studying and has been asking questions on the club's yahoo group page on the net. Many members have been awesome at responding to his questions to help this guy get started in ham radio. Way to go guys!

I know that there are a lot of things going on with various clubs in the state that I'm unaware of. I belong to the NEWARA club so I know a lot about what is going on even though I'm out of town a lot. I would love to have regular updates and general information on other club's activities in the state so I can post them here on the web. Please ask your club president or secretary to email me their name and address so I can keep in touch.

This week I'm off to Newington to the Section Manager's workshop. Should be fun and I hope to learn a lot.

    73, de WY7DTW LeeAnne
