News last updated: Sat, October 25, 2008 at 12:36 AM ET
Joe Bushel W2DWR, the Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC) has returned from his trip. Please resume normal communication channels for emergency needs. ******************************************************************************************************
Dale Sewell W4NBF, of Pensacola, has stepped forward to volunteer as the interim Net Manager for the Florida Mid-day Traffic Net (FMTN). Dale is active on several traffic nets, and is very involved in the digital aspect of handling traffic as well. He is a past STM and NM of the Northern Florida Phone Net.
Dale recognizes the history and tradition of FMTN, not to mention that it is the Florida net that feeds out of state traffic into the daytime NTS cycle. Losing this link would be a devastating blow to the NTS function in Florida.
FMTN meets at noon each day of the week on 7242 KHZ. If you can, please join the net, as there is often traffic for many areas throughout the State.
Please join me in thanking Dale for his team spirit by volunteering for this task.

Dick Mondro K4FQT, of Weirsdale, has been selected by his Official Observer peers to serve as Official Observer Coordinator for the Northern Florida Section. Our recently elected Section Manager, Paul Eakin KJ4G, called Dick Tuesday evening to congratulate him once the results of the balloting were announced, and expressed his satisfaction with the choice made by the group.
Dick ia a past OOC for the Michigan Section, and brings years of knowledge, experience, and contacts to the table. It will be exciting to see how the Amateur Auxiliary group in the Section develops into a team that will benefit the amateur radio community both within and outside the Section.
Dick and his wife Sandra, KC4SM, moved to Central Florida in 2005 with the intention to grow a huge antenna farm. He enjoys rag chewing, and is an avid RV'er.
Please join with the ARRL, our Section Officials, and the amateur radio community as a whole in congratulating Dick in his new position.
