********ATTENTION SECTION AWARDS ANNOUNCED*******
I am announcing two new awards to be given every year in the Nebraska Section. Beginning this year I will be accepting nominations for the Young Ham of the Year Nebraska Section, and also for the Outstanding Ham of the Year Nebraska Section. Please send me an e-mail about any ham under the age of 19 to my e-mail address of ka0boj@arrl.org . Please give a list of reasons why you believe this Young Ham deserves recognition. Also, then e-mail me about any ham in the Nebraska Section who should be recognized as the Outstanding Ham of the Year Nebraska Section. I look forward to your nominations.
A note from the Section Manager....
As we approach the upcoming Spring and Summer it is important for us to remember about lightning safety. Lightning kills thousands each year and many are killed when their is no apparent clouds over head. Please check into your local National Weather Website for lightning safety tips. Also, be careful when climbing towers and stringing antennas keeping ever mindful of overhead powerlines. We want you to be in the headlines for all the right reasons.
Remember to get your training in storm spotting classes. Go to the National Weather Service website and check for classes in your area. Especially important for the new hams and those of us who have a little moss on the north side..LOL
Have a safe and fun filled year,
73's
Matt - KAØBOJ
